We are pleased to announce the successful launch of the Health and Wellbeing Screening System (HWSS), coinciding with World Mental Health Day on October 10, 2024. Developed by DrukSmart for The PEMA Secretariat, this innovative web-based platform is designed to facilitate early identification of mental health conditions, provide support mobilization, enable service referrals, and ensure aftercare interventions.
The HWSS system is built on a modern microservices architecture with Kubernetes cluster HA to ensure high availability. Utilizing open-source technologies like the Python-based Django framework for the backend and Vue.js for the frontend, the system also features AI/ML-powered chatbots for enhanced engagement and RESTful APIs for seamless integrations.
This project represents a major step forward in proactive mental health prevention and promotion, with support from the Ministry of Health, Royal Government of Bhutan, Ministry of Education and Skills Development, and other key agencies, alongside contributions from UNICEF and the World Health Organization (WHO).
