We are delighted to announce the successful launch of the Health and Wellbeing Screening System (HWSS), perfectly timed to coincide with World Mental Health Day on October 10, 2024. Developed by DrukSmart for The PEMA Secretariat, this groundbreaking web-based platform is designed to enable early identification of mental health conditions, streamline support mobilization, facilitate service referrals, and ensure effective aftercare interventions.

Built on a modern microservices architecture with a Kubernetes cluster for high availability, the HWSS leverages open-source technologies such as the Python-based Django framework for its backend and Vue.js for the frontend. It also incorporates AI/ML-powered chatbots for enhanced user engagement and RESTful APIs for seamless integrations.

This initiative represents a significant leap forward in proactive mental health prevention and promotion. It is made possible through the support of the Ministry of Health, Royal Government of Bhutan, Ministry of Education and Skills Development, and other key stakeholders, including UNICEF and the World Health Organization (WHO). Together, we are proud to contribute to advancing mental health services for the nation.
